Join an experienced and dynamic interdisciplinary team, working with clients experiencing a variety of complex physical health needs Work with clients in their homes and communities towards optimising their health, independence and community participation A unique opportunity to develop a high skill level in seating, mobility solutions and postural management, while maintaining an occupational therapy clinical caseload Support to work towards Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management accreditation if required, including custom fabrication credentialing Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board (OTBNZ) with current APC is essential Secondment opportunities considered M te tnga | About the Role The Adult Community Therapy Service (ACTS) delivers allied health services to adults aged 16-65 in our Canterbury community, within a Hub and Spoke model (including the Burwood Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Longhurst and Rangiora sites). We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about providing person-centred care within clients own homes, communities and also clinic settings. This is a busy, varied role, where you are guaranteed a varied case load and will work as part of dynamic, supportive and experienced allied health team.

Your time would be equally split between provision of occupational therapy input and Seating/Wheelchair work. You will be supported to develop your seating and wheelchair knowledge and skills as required. You will need to be an NZ registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

Travel within the Canterbury region is required for this role. Ko wai koe | About You In this role, you will be responsible for: Undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments and developing and implementing treatment plans, considered within a holistic approach Undertaking Wheelchair/Seating/24-hour postural management assessments and implementing best-practice solutions Providing education and resources to your clients and their family/whanau, as well as the wider interdisciplinary team Prioritising, organising and managing a case load while allocating time appropriately Engaging in service delivery reviews and associated quality improvement initiatives Providing clinical leadership for junior staff, Allied Health assistants and students Ng pkenga me ng wheako | Skills and Experience Registration with the NZ Occupational Therapy Board and current annual practicing certificate is essential A minimum of 2 years - post-qualification experience; Experience working with adults with complex needs, including a variety of neurological conditions is desirable Able to undertake standardised and non-standardised (formal/informal) occupational therapy assessment to identify appropriate clinical and therapy interventions Excellent skills working within teams and maintaining relationships with service providers in the community Enable NZ Equipment and Housing Modification accreditation or willingn.
